About Me

Hi, and welcome to To Tech As Jesus Did.

I’m Greg Dhuyvetter.  I have been a high school teacher and adminstrator for the past 27 years.  During that time I have seen the advent of technology integration into the classroom in the hardware phase, the software phase, and the current phase of web-based social media.

I have been lucky enough to have been a part of design, planning, installation, training, and instruction in classroom systems and programs.  I have also made mistakes at every step of the way!

My current position as Assistant Principal of Academic Services at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California has given me the chance to work on the integration of our curriculum with the changing tools and models available for teachers and students.  Recognizing the the world of the classroom is changing, I believe we have a professional and moral obligation to diligently study and attempt to understand these changes and adapt whatever means best improves student learning.

This project I am currently pursuing has two main parts

  1. Training teachers about web 2.0 technologies through a series of short workshops that I call the” Tech 20.”
  2. Examining the unique relationship between the Gospel values esposed by our schools and our mission as Twenty-first Century teachers.

In this site I will be logging my Tech 20 sessions, my writings on the intersection of mission as Catholic Schools and technology tools.  I will also make information available about my speaking engagements.
